We are thrilled to share the news that Caroline Gorski, an entrepreneur and innovation leader from Rolls-Royce, will join Capital Enterprise as our new CEO, effective from 1st September.

With over 25 years’ experience in emerging technologies and digital transformation, Caroline is uniquely positioned to lead on our ambitious vision for the future – and not just for Capital Enterprise, but in the critical role we play as a catalyst for the broader UK tech startup ecosystem.

Caroline is known for her leadership of R² Data Labs, Rolls-Royce’s Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence division, and as the former CEO of the R² Factory which brought industrial AI capability to highly regulated businesses. Previously, she served as Head of IoT and Digital Manufacturing at the Digital Catapult.

The appointment of our new CEO comes at a time when the government has committed to supercharging the UK’s startup ecosystem, harnessing the country’s R&D leadership in biotech, AI, quantum computing and green technology. Under Caroline’s leadership, we will continue to support and nurture groundbreaking startups, empowering them to achieve their full potential and create lasting impact as we have over the past decades.

Caroline says:

“We are living through the most extraordinary phase of technological development, genuinely a once-in-250-year cycle of transformation, and we are lucky enough to be in one of the world’s top three innovation centres.”

“I believe Capital Enterprise has an essential role to play in helping innovators shape a future that our children will want to live in. I hope that by working closely with our membership, funders, and delivery partners, not to mention the thousands of startups and entrepreneurs we support, we can help to deliver that future.”

Peter Thackwray OBE, chair of the Capital Enterprise board, added:

“Caroline is a tremendously experienced and dynamic leader, and I am delighted to announce that she will be joining Capital Enterprise as our new CEO. I feel confident that under Caroline’s leadership, Capital Enterprise will only strengthen its leadership in the drive to make the UK the best place in the world to start and scale a tech business.”
