UK Business Angels Association are hosting a virtual round table that is bringing together Angels and VCs seeking to make a difference to the level of investment reaching black and minority ethnic founders.

We are in midst of a meaningful and powerful global moment and attention is being drawn to the actions needed to address the inequalities, including those in the investment market, and how we can increase opportunities for black and ethnic minority communities. Alongside this global call to action, we at UKBAA, want to shine the spotlight on the much-needed conversation around what more can be done to increase investment in black and ethnic minority founders. We need to understand better why so few of these entrepreneurs are coming through our pipeline and why so few are making their way through to investment. We also need to understand why there remain very few investors from black and minority ethnic communities within our investment base. We also lack data and sufficient understanding of the core issues.

UKBAA is bringing together several leading players from our community, who are taking important action to build investment in black and minority ethnic founders. They will share their insights and perspectives on the issue and what we can do to support and amplify their initiatives. They will also discuss what further actions are needed to build a much more connected and diverse investment ecosystem for the future of finance.

Join in the conversation on 1st of July at 11:00am as we discuss how investing in black founders really does matter.
