Capital Enterprise has extensive early-stage investment experience. We have provided management support to startup seed investment funds, primarily the Mayor of London funded, London Co-Investment Fund (LCIF) and the AI Seed Fund.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Capital Enterprise lobbied for a new co-investment vehicle alongside Dom Hallas, CEO of tech startup advocacy group COADEC, and Brent Hoberman, the founder of First Minute Capital and Founders Factory. The Government responded, guided by our recommendations to form the Future Fund through the British Business Bank.
London Co Investment Fund (LCIF) which invested nearly £23m capital alongside over £180m from the private sector into the pre-seed and seed rounds of 149 London based Tech Startups. We also managed the AI Seed Fund before spinning it out, which is a seed-stage investment fund to support “AI First” startups.
In 2021 alone our programmes and initiatives helped over 1,310 entrepreneurial startups. Through this support, these teams raised over £125m of private sector investment for their innovative new ventures and subsequently these startups have gone on to create over 350 new jobs.
