Company: Pesky Fish
Role: Data set development

At Pesky, we are enabling British fishermen to sell their catch directly to consumers in the fastest, freshest and most transparent supply chain in the country!

Having seen great traction at both fishermen and customer end (restaurants and home consumers), we are now developing the ability for boats to immediately share their catch while at sea to thousands of potential buyers and have it delivered in as little as 6 hours.

Our ultimate ambition is to create the first blockchain-enabled exchange for boats across the world to sell their catch – creating a better and more sustainable industry for fish, fishermen and consumers.

Internship role available:

We are looking for someone who can help develop the data set that will inform our analytical and projection capabilities (fish landings, prices, environmental, etc) as well as the information on our customer interface.

Currently, we receive considerable volumes of information on all of the above, but haven’t built the means of analysing the information for any operational or projection purposes. However, once done, it will provide a huge amount of value to the business.

Ideally, we are looking for skills in:

  • Data structures
  • Basic algorithm (supported by our Chief Information Officer)
  • Analytics (ideally)

The internship will take place this summer and will support Pesky Fish’s CTO. Given the volume of work, it is likely that the will be given a brilliant, meaty task to deliver.
There will also be the opportunity to regularly travel to the coast…
