ERDF Project Consultancy brief: Project Management
Background
Capital Accelerator Programme is a Mayor of London ERDF funded initiative led and managed by Capital Enterprise and UCL Advances that aims to provide additional new resources, expertise and know-how to both expand and enhance the provision of business support available in London to potential scalable and investable businesses in the Digital, Science and Technology sectors.
Starting in January 2014 and running until June 2015 this programme aims to help 626 London based SMEs with high growth potential to receive intensive advice and practical support that will enable at least 160 of them to raise collectively over £8m of investment funding from business angels and early stage venture capitalist and thereby enable these SME’s to create a minimum 234 new jobs in London.
To deliver a programme of interventions and activities the CAP has assembled a partnership comprising of the leading players in London that support early stage entrepreneurs in the Digital, Science and Technology sectors, this includes the Fast Forward London.
Fast Forward London is an initiative supported by the UK accelerator community. It provides much needed support for carefully selected startups at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey, culminating in support (and selection) from accelerators directly, and access to funding from equity providers (SEIS funds, Crowdfunding) and non equity finance (Startup Loan company, Technology Strategy Board).
Contract Information

Capital Enterprise is the membership body for deliverers of enterprise support services in London. It facilitates entrepreneurship via its 60+ (current) member organisations and through the development of new and innovative pan-London programmes.
Capital Enterprise on behalf of Fast Forward London is seeking an experienced accelerator programme manager to input into syllabus development, applicant marketing and selection, speaker / coach selection and briefing, and general support for the companies going through the Fast Forward London Accelerator programme.
From entrepreneurs, to investors, accelerators, incubators, your network should be readily available to make Fast Forward London a huge success in the London / UK startup ecosystem. You will have access to all elements of the programme development, and expect to hold the appropriate belnd of enthusiasm and gravitas to ensure Fast Forward London delivers success for the founders and accelerator community.
Applicant Description
You should be able to demonstrate at least 10 years experience in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, angel funding, grant finance, venture capital, and the like. You should also have previous experience of developing syllabus content, ideally for an accelerator or HE institution.
You should be willing to commit to the equivalent of a full time position for the whole four months and be available days, evenings, or basically whenever needed. Schedule is flexible but a strong commitment is expected. Applicants should be able to jump in and complete any task quickly and effectively. We expect a great attitude, desire to learn and meet new people, lots of energy and enthusiasm. You should be scared of no task and be willing to take on any project, large or small.
Tasks and responsibilities
Tasks will include syllabus development, managing contractors, briefing speakers and coaches, involving industry trade associations and sponsors, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Fast Forward London program. Specifically this would include engaging with and assisting the companies in any areas of need. This can include marketing, business development work, research, and providing regular content (blog posts and photos) to social media manager. Examples of responsibilities: Helping the companies with market readiness, identifying needs and preparing for upcoming events, organizing meetings and running logistics for special guest mentor visits, taking meeting notes, and setting up office space for events. Management will report to CAP.
